Add red lentils for bulk and thickening, also grate in carrots and add a stock cube.
Alternatively, go to the pub/round to a mates and leave a Mexican Takeaway menu out!
  • Masses of rice, and maybe cornbread served with it?

Do you have any cumin and cayenne pepper? How much mince beef do you have?
Squares knitted for my throw ~ 90 (yes!!! I have finally finished it :rotfl: )
Squares made for my patchwork quilt ~ 80 (only the "actual" quilting to do now :rotfl:)

Do you have any tinned or fresh tomatos, potatoes, onion, any vegetables, baked beans or kidney beans, chick peas? All or some could be added to bulk.

To make it seem meaty add some gravy granules (beef is best) and some boiling water to stretch.

What are you specifically short of, meat or juice?

Lastly your hubby owes you big time for this!

Haha if my OH did this I would tell him where to shove it!

I am making chilli also today but from scratch so actually if 4 more people turned up I would be OK as I just been shopping.

Text him back telling him to bring a pack of mince and a couple of pounds of fresh tomatoes if he wants his mates fed? (and not on ramen noodles).

If you have oregano, cumin and chilli powder add some more of that, add extra chilli to your hubbys portion.
  • i first did tell him to shove off but hes promised to be on nappy and booger man duty for the next month for ds.
i dont have lentils, cumin or cayennw. i have got baked beans and lots of different winter veg. i am mainly short of sauce as the neighbour swapped me 8 eggs for a kilo of mince, lol.

Go with the soup, that should help, can you cook the veg and liquidise to make it more saucy?
