Ceramic Fkoor tiles

Hi, just wondering if anyones got any advice on how to easily lift/remove my horrible ceramic kitchen tiles - quite a biggish area, or is is possible/or has anyone had them screeded and done something on top?

You could just chisel them off with a bolster and club hammer (wear goggles to protect your eyes) do you know if they have been laid on a concrete or wooden floor by any chance?0

I know this chisel is not perfect for the job, but it is cheap-

Thanks, dont know what sort of flooring is underneath, the house is 8 years old or so, so quitelikely it wont be solid concrete? looks like i've got a long job ahead of me.
