any places you can pay for holidays monthly?

There are 6 of us. 2 adults, 4 kids. So of course paying in a lump sum is going to be very expensive (and not really an option). My hubby suggested maybe we could pay for one monthly, and next year, maybe we could all go on our first ever holiday together! Doesn't even have to be abroad. Anyone know if there are any companies that do this and if it is worth it please? Thanks.

  • Put the money in a separate savings account. That way, when you have the money saved up, you are free to use any travel company you like and can go for the best deal.

    I would agree with Paddy, in these uncertian times paying for a holiday monthly to a tour company could end up with you paying in for 10 months only to find the TO goes bust. that way loosing your money as well as the hoilday. I would, like Paddy says put it into an account on a monthly basis {even if it was in a bank and the bank goes bust the goverment covers your account to £50000}I would then book the holiday using a credit card {another cover for the last few weeks before you go}
  • Most travel agents take a deposit and then the balance 8 weeks before travel - you could save up the balance in between
  • Thomas cook will let you pay monthly as long as you book it far enough away. We used to do this when we younger with our part time Saturday jobs.

    Agree with most.

    Either save a monthly sum in a savings account and when you have enough, take it out and pay for the holiday.

    Or decide upon the holiday, book it a year in advance with a small deposit and then divide the rest in to 10 equal amounts and put that much away (plus more for spending money)each month in a savings account and pay it off 8 weeks before departure (which is the norm).

    It has to be said that if you cant afford these options, then you cant afford the holiday, whatever you do, dont go borrowing money and be paying off over x amount of years just for a holiday.
