virgin/mbna

My husband has our debt on virgin. Coming to the end of our stooze at end of April. Can I apply for a mbna card in my name and balance transfer it over? I note t&C s say you cannot transfer from another mbna account. Well I know Virgin is part of mbna but would Virgin debt be transferable to mbna? Have applied for hsbc but reading the write ups here am not holding my breath on a reasonable credit limit so have to find something else.

With regards to your first question you have already answered the question so u need to balance transfer from the mbna card to your bank account and then pay off virgin or apply for a egg money card and transfer to that and then pay virgin off.0

Be aware of MBNA's 'money transfer' definition. Might be better to use a cheque.SHAGGY84 wrote:...u need to balance transfer from the mbna card to your bank account...0 -
Sorry to be thick about this, but I have always just balanced transfered from the old card with the debts to the new card.
Will apologise in advance for this question but if I take out the mbna in my name how do I get the funds into my bank a/c? Have not used mbna before ....
Then I assume I could pay off my husband's Virgin with a phone call and use of the bank debit card......
Or am I really missing the plot?.....0 -

No your not missing the plot you have got it bang on the only difference is like Yorkshire Boy states is instead of transfering the money from mbna to your bank a/c write your self a mbna cheque to yourself.
When i last transfered i just gave them my bank details but its better to be safe than sorry and use a cheque for the transfer or like i said apply for the egg money card and transfer it to that.0
