Hi,
What would be the cheapest place to go (online or in-store) for a coach holiday (domestic/UK) to Blackpool or Scarbrough (or anywhere like that!).
Thanks!

Hi, I've already asked and been granted for permission via PM for a Help for Heroes link. Pfft.

Try David urquhart, shearings,
I have nothing good at to say about National holidays.
Went to blackpool, The driver just dumped us in the pouring rain at 1.30, in fairness, national holidays had contracted this out but they should have done their research on the company
WE couldnt book in till 3.00. Didnt tell us when we were being picked up, Neither could the call staff at national hols
It took countless telephone calls to find out. Had to be out at 10am, bus was coming at 10.30 didnt turn up till 11.45. Still raining.
Went to Berlin, last year, the area we were stuck in was called little Istanbul
We only saw the Berlin wall from the bus. We saw about 10% of Berlin
No choice of food, you got what was put in front of you, spag bol, yuk
pasta, yuk. Customer service ie The coach driver was absolutely obnoxious.
I pointed out lots of this in a letter but they didnt seem to think anything was wrong so it was tough. I wont ever travel with them again.
On the other hand we went to south of france with them and the two drivesr went out of their way to show us the sights and were brilliant.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -

I have just booked a Shearings holiday online. It was the cheapest way of booking it but just be careful which link you go through. You get a lot better price by going through the special offer link. We saved £100 by going through this link rather than just putting the details in the first page that asks for the details of the type of holiday you require.
When we were checking although they had a lot advertised when you came to booking them they were not available. Just persivere and you will get one. We got 5 days in a Coast and Country hotel travelling by Grand Tourer coaches for £134 each.
We have travelled with National Holidays before, had a great time, no problems and found it excellent value for money (£129 each for 5 days to Isle of Wright). We have found that we could not get the same value trying to put together the deal ourselves.0 -
I love National Holidays - been on four trips, Lake Garda - Austrian Tyrol - Loret - Rhine Cruise.
All fabulous value, wonderful hotels, good food...the inclusive day trips were fab too.
Of all the drivers, only one of about 12 was a cranky old git - "Can't you wait to go to toilet, we don't like the ones on the coach been used".
Fortunately he only took us to a meeting point in the UK, we were then met by two cracking Geordie lads.
Couldn't fault National Holidays, totally recommended!0 -
It depends on where you live, there will be some local firms offering trips. It's taken me years of experience to get this cynical0

Yes. Your local press will have plenty of adverts for local firms offering coach holidays, and most people do still go with them rather than the few national operators there are. The more progressive companies will have websites, so if you don't have access to local papers you could try a google search.0
