Buying a Suzuki swift

Options
Hi,
For some mad reason have decided to buy a new car. We are currently looking at a Suzuki Swift 1.5GTX 5dr. We've got a price of £8700 with metalic paint and 09 plates. Does this seem like a good deal?

Cheers

  • I don't want to sound rude or patronising or ...........

But why? What is it that appeals to you? I have a nightmare getting parts at times for these and personally don't rate them. But they are cheap to buy. Which is why I ask 'why'. If you love them and found them good to drive and the colour is nice .. :D Then I can understand it. But at the moment, I feel that there are much better vehicles out there, and if you wait for the 'new plate' phase to calm down in a few weeks or so, then there will be even better deals around.

  • No offence taken ... rush is old car is broken and needs an expensive repair. As currently costing us money to keep it on the road is cheapest to get rid of it. We don't really want second hand as have been advised (by friends not car dealer) that these small cars with bigger engines can be abused by previous owners.

Can I ask why you don't rate them? Only done test drive so feedback would be welcome.

    Cheers

  • Hey,

I was looking at these. The best I found is at a 'Stoneacre' dealership. Cost £7797 with 0% finance / 5 years interest free and No Deposit. I read a few good reviews on them and think they look pretty cool.

    What cars are better jeannie?

One of my criteria in buying a car is being slightly different and this would meet the bill on that front. No Fiestas for me!

Its really a personal choice - I don't want to put the OP off if that is what they really want and feel they are getting a good deal.

Better? You are trying to goad me and I am not sure I will take the bait!
For that type of car? I would go for a RAV 4 - that would be the best. Tho the new Ford Kuga is looking very nice (a Nissan underneath but easier on the eye) :D

I can confirm that the ford Kuga is excellent, love mine to bits. Having said that, i can't wait to get back to something fast.

I don't understand the nissan bit tho??? Are you getting mixed up with a koleos which definitely isn't easy on the eye!
  • Both outside my price range...and comparable with Sx4
  • Sorry going off topic.

On the whole i've only heard positive reports about the Suzuki. The only critism that i would make having driven one briefly is that it is a little unrefined compared to some of the more mainstream stuff.
