Any suggestions for a place to stay for the night near the channel tunnel. We want to stop for a night after coming back from DLP. We want to break the journey up and make the holiday last that little bit longer. Any suggestions and of course - any deals in true MSE style. (tried £10 travelodge but won;t work for 1 night). I want 2 rooms for 2 families.
TIA

It's more economical if you stay in Calais before catching the train home.
You are loooking at about £25 for a family room in Calais

Hi
We've booked a travelodge in Canterbury for 4 nights, in March, then going over to France for the day, (for my cheap ciggies) not far from the tunnel. But there was b&b's in Canterbury when we were looking, if you fancy that, or I'm sure they'll be plenty of decent alternatives.
Hope this helps0 -
There are 3 travellodge/inn type place in Ashford all are dead easy to get to/from the tunnel
My preference is for the Ashford Central Travelinn as it always seems the easiest to get to/from (about 2 mins from the m/way and tesco to fill the car up with petrol is bang on the motorway junction)
We have stayed in the Folkestone Travelinn but that was "not nice" with burnt out cars in the car park and a real air of neglect.
There are also a couple of hotels in the Novotel chain right next to the Cite d'Europe shopping centre but if you have crossings booked then this probably not be of use.
As this is about moneysaving all I can add is that since travelinn stopped their family card I'v not rated then as a discount chain.Pinkkipper0
