Newark to glasgow flight booked in UK

Hi sorry if this is wrong place to post.

I have elderly relatives visiting from US and want me to find them a cheap flight from Newark to Glasgow late May/early June for approx a month. I have looked at Continental US site and was hoping to get something a little cheaper.

Other site I looked at was cheaptickets.com but they were dearer again.

Can anyone recommend any other sites I should be looking at.

Thanks in advance for any replies.

Sorry title is a bit misleading but I cant change it.

The problem is that Continental have a monopoly on the route, therefore fares tends to be a lot higher than they are to Heathrow where there is competition. At the moment very few of the US carriers are offering better deals than on their own websites, try Kayak or Orbitz but I suspect that the fare on the airline's own website is the lowest you will get, remember many schools in the US have holidays in June, hence the higher fares!
  • Thanks Alan for replying. I think you are right. I suspect they would get a better deal by booking over there.

That is possible because the major airlines do have fares that are only bookable from the country that the point of origin is in.

Just to explain a little, most fares are bookable in any country to account for passengers requiring connecting flights, but there are a handful which are only open for sale in the country of origin.
