My son is thinking of getting this laptop/notebook from Staples for £389.99. Can anyone please say whether they think this is a good one, or suggest better ones at a similar price.

P.S. It says Notebook. Am I right in thinking that this is in fact a laptop, notebook and laptop being the same thing?

It looks OK as long as he doesn't want to play recent games and doesn't want something light and portable - 17 inch laptops are likely to be quite heavy.
And yes they are the same.0
