Where to buy a Spiral Staircase

Hi I'm converting an old Church and am looking to source a Spiral staircase for it. Needs to go up to 3.2 meters in height and would prefer something simpathetic to the look and feel of the old Church. Preferably something Cast Iron or Victorianish

Don't really want to spend more than 1K and happy to buy a reclaimed one but have no idea where to start. All the stuff I've seen on Google has been unsuitable or silly money.

HELP!

That's quite a high ceiling to not have it made bespoke.

Have you considered the practicalities of a spiral staircase? If its tight winding then you simply won't be able to get anything but flat pack furniture up there.

If you want second hand and cheap then it's worth having a search saved on ebay and seeing what comes up. What about building regs though? You'd have to check that anything you buy complies with regs if you are in the middle of converting and that's hard if you're buying second hand. I don't know how this new thing about having 2m headroom above everything works with a spiral staircase.

If it were me I'd either go the whole hog and have something made with a decent turning circle or have a half decent straight set. 1000 won't buy you all that much in staircase land.
Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.
  • If the spiral staircase is serving a single living space then it can be as small as 1300mm diameter but if there is more than one room it must be an 1830mm diameter minimum. Unless you go down the secondhand route the cost will be way more than 1k. http://www.rmjalloys.co.uk
