what to charge landlord for odd jobs?

Any idea's on a reasonable rate to charge my landlord. He lives far away and my father has done quite a few jobs for him...eg gutters cleared, moved furnature and when i moved in it took 5 people to scrub it top to bottom as it was manky filthy dirty..

Ideas appreciated thank you

  • Sorry to burst your bubble. In my opinion the answer is NIL

If you have reported this to your landlord and he has requested you to have the work done and bill him then you should charge him

I have worked with landlords that are good and ones that are far from this.

You should report any defects to him and give him a chance to rectify the defects at his expense in a reasonable time. If you have not done this then you may be on a sticky wicket.
    baldly going on...

Landlord asked for odd jobs to be done and bill him for the time and labour. It's what to charge him Im stuck with ie clearing the gutters..
Obviously he is trying to save a few quid rather than getting in the proffesionals to do a job..

Cleaning out gutters, moving furniture, scrubbing out a property only need amateur DIY skill and common sense. Minimum wage x the number of hours doing the work might be a starting point.
.................:)....I'm smiling because I have no idea what's going on ...:)

We live in the South East and have an odd job man who does things like gutter clearing, basic plumbing etc and he charges a flat rate of £20/hour for all jobs.

    :D
