Which model of Sony MP3 player do you have?
If you have one of the Sony Hard Disk players (NW-1 and NW-5) then these can read the iTunes Plus AAC encoded files. You have to either import the AAC files into SonicStage or drag and drop onto the device. Standard iTunes AAC DRM files do not work.
If you know which model you have then I'll look it up0 -

Model number is
NWZ-S616F0 -
If it supports "drag and drop", you should be able to just drag tracks from iTunes and drop them into your mp3 player.0

Aha. The NWZ-S616F is Sony's first MP3 player post-ATRAC, their own format.
It does support AAC format so you should be able to use it with iTunes Plus.
iTunes plus is quite new and I don't think there are any instructions out there for using non-ipods with it yet but it definitely supports them!0 -

Nothing new except that previously you could not use DRM protected AAC format files bought from iTunes on anything but an ipod!
iTunes Plus allows you to buy non DRM protected AAC format files and upgrade your previously purchased iTunes music to have the DRM removed.
This means you can play them on any device that can play non DRM protected AAC files which is fantastic news if you have a partner who has bought music you can't play on your non Apple player!0 -
Well you still can't use DRM-protected AAC files on anything but an iPod, unless you strip the DRM out.
But, all iTunes music is now DRM free.
The OP might give iTunes Agent a try.0
