help with sony memory stick please

Hi,
I have bought a Kodak Digital Picture Frame for OHs Birthday next week.I asked in the shop if it took a Sony memory stick from my camera and was told I would need an adapter.
OK off I went to ebay and bought a 2gb card complete with adapter which arrived today.
BUT when I put it in the camera it says "Format Error". I tried formatting the card and it came up with the same error.
Does this mean its dud or is there something I should do?
I guess its a dud as it doesn't work in my Sony laptop either:confused:
Just don't want to look stupid to the ebay seller if its something I am doing:o

Thanks in advance

The 2gb stick is a Sony memory stick pro duo and the Photo frame is a Kodak P720

    HTH

I haven't actually tried it in the Frame as I had wrapped it up and as I can't get any pics on it ,theres not much point

Thanks. Can you take a look at this eBay article on fake Sony Memory Stick Pro Duo sticks and check that yours is genuine:
    http://reviews.ebay.co.uk/FAKE-Sony-Memory-Stick-Pro-Duo-MagicGate-Cards-Exposed_W0QQugidZ10000000001535763

The Easyshare P720 picture frame is listed as compatible with:
    Secure Digital(SD), Multimedia Card(MMC), MEMORY STICK(MS), XD-Picture Card(xD), COMPACTFLASH(CF), MICRODRIVE(MD)

Are your photographs on your camera or on your computer?

It does look like one of the fakes in the article (but then the card out my camera looks fake too:eek:!)
It isn't recognised by my Sony laptop and the camera gives a Format Error.

I was stupid to buy it from ebay:o:o:o
I was only looking for an adapter to begin with and then thought "Oh an extra card would be handy!"

I will contact seller and see what he says:confused:

    Thanks for the help:beer:

Can anyone tell me what the difference is between the MS Pro Duo and the Gaming MS Pro Duo  I can't find a decent description for the gaming one, all I see is the gaming ones are a bit prettier:p

I will be using it in my Sony W130 digital camera (when it arrives) in case that matters
