I usually book through a consolidator here for a near fully inclusive deal. That way you don't need to worry about the confusing range of insurances you will be offered if you book direct with a provider at the airport. And still land up with a cheaper deal.

Consolidators are numerous - Holiday Autos, Auto Europe, carhire 3000 are just a few.

    i always use www.airline-network.com
cheapest i've found and it has full coverage.
used them about 20 times with no issues

PS - Just checked the website below and sirline network is much cheaper (for random dates in vegas)

    I've been Money Tipped!
Having just returned from the USA, I used Alamo. Booked on the UK website and pre paid before I left so all in £'s.

Best rates I found when comparing. Site is really easy to use and you can cancel online should you need to. Picking up the car and returning it again to airport locations was really easy.

    I definitely recommend them.
  • Another user of www.airline-network.co.uk for car hire. I use it around 5 times a year for the US (at a variety of locations from Vegas to Dallas) and always use Dollar. Can honestly say I have never had any problems and the prices include pretty much everything.
  • net-flights.com are also pretty good........ i've been playing them off against autocar 3000

I have used netflights and carhire3000.

the advantage of CH3000 is that they will undercut anyone elses quote (making them cheaper than netflights) and if you pay upfront in full there are no cancellation charges and if you find a cheaper price after you have booked or they reduce their prices, you can call them and they will refund accordingly.

If you go for any of the Uk brokers premium package it will include extra drivers a tank of fuel and all insurances
  • Yep recently used net flights here too with dollar and no problems. Had 2 rentals one from LAX to San Diego and the reverse on the way back. Had the extra package for £9 so you get an extra driver and free tank of fuel, saves having to fill up before returning the car.

Pickup and dropoff took a few minutes each time and we had a dodge charger.

the "extra package" used to be £2 per rental so was awesome simply for the fuel. they charge about £2 a day now so not worth it for a long rental. great if you're going to somewhere (especially vegas as dollar have depots at virtually all strip hotels) for a few days. rent a car for 23 1/2 hours with the extra. take it back. get new car with free gas!
