Joint Account Question

Hi all, im new to this so i got a question.

Me and the mrs want to open an account together and begin saving for the future. We have found a monthly savings account with barclays to look the best but does anyone know if its possible to have such an account jointly or if they will only let you open it in one name?

If they wont let us and we need a specific joint account could anyone please advise on where to find the best one.

I think you're referring to the Barclays Regular Saver where you can save up to £250 a month. I was told that this has to be opened in individual names. I'm unsure whether the regular savers offered by other banks are similarly restricted. I suggest you check out Moneysupermarket.com and look for the terms and conditions of the regular savers shown there. if you can only afford to save a certain amount per month, the other alternative would be for you and your wife to both open individual regular saver accounts with Barclays and split the savings between you to get the best deal on the interest rate.
