Hi,here is my story about the lovely  Lowell/Red.
In March 2006 went Bankrupt and in October 2006 got early discharge. Before BR had a current account with Natwest with o/d and a loan which of course were included in BR.Post BR had a cashminder account with Co-op and then Natwest agreed to take me back and gave me a basic bank account with solo card. When back on my feet I opened a full current account with HSBC with o/d and got a Mastercard credit card.I've run my account impeccably, never used the £600 o/d and paid the credit card off in full every month on time for the past 12months.Last week I upgraded to HSBC Plus from the Advance account because I would make good use of all the perks.
Today, I receive a letter from Lowell informing me they bought a debt on 08/06/2007 (doesn't state who from) for £8,630.67 owed to HSBC Bank!! Bearing in mind I joined HSBC May 2008,I thought what the hell is going on? They quoted the sort code of 40-47-82 which I've checked and it pertains to First Direct Bank.I did have an account with First Direct from 1996 to 1999 had a loan for £2000 and paid it off.
For pity's sake, what in God's name are these vermin playing at and how are they allowed to get away with these practices?
I've been through a BR and got myself back on track with an excellent record at the bank and now this.
Well, some people say write and refuse to acknowledge and others say just ignore them and they MAY go away. What do you guys think and is there anyone else who's had similar experiences?

It is covered by your bankruptcy and also statute barred.
If you still have copies of your bankruptcy order, then write to them with that.
Also send copies of the letters from Lowell to your former OR. Keeps them in the loop in case you need them to inform Lowells of a few "facts".
