sainsbury's woodland free range eggs

It's down to the laws of supply and demand. A lot of people have switched to free range egss after all the TV programmes about how cruelly battery chickens are treated, so now there aren't enough free range eggs to meet the demand. So until more producers switch to producing free range eggs, and the shortage eases:saintwarwick wrote: »Free range eggs are very dear these days, they must be feeding the chickens cavier as I cannot think why they have gone up so much recently. Definately a grabbit.
1) Supermarkets will quite often not have enough in stock to satisfy demand.
2) Prices will be high. Thanks to all who post constructively.

Definitely a grabbit! I bought some when I was in there last as it was only an extra 40p to get 12 rather than 6 like I'd normally buy. We ended up using 11 in one day!0 -
The offer's finished now (in my store anyway).0

Well it wasn't a bargain then, you'd have been better off buying 6! :rotfl:Definitely a grabbit! I bought some when I was in there last as it was only an extra 40p to get 12 rather than 6 like I'd normally buy. We ended up using 11 in one day! Thanks to all who post constructively.

It was a grabbit, because I grabbed it.
It wouldn't have been a grabbit if I didn't use the eggs and they went mouldy I suppose..0 -
Yes, but if you only bought 6 you wouldn't have been able to use 11 all in one go!

at the risk of getting told off, if anyone out there does need any eggs (not free range although they do do them at £1.29 for 6 i think), aldi supermarket does 10, but with 2 free at the moment, for 99p. they are large eggs, i have been told are very fresh when eaten too. Obviously free range is better and more ethical but some people on here cannot afford to be ethical when it comes to feeding their families. i hope it is of use to someone.A happy wife, and mum to 2 lovely little boys :j0
