P.s Murphy i do reccomend next time you have a sealant go to a valeter as you will save your self a lot of money

Thanks for the good money saving advice but I chose a dealer for an entirely non-fiscal reason.

(this is definitely not a slur on your profession before I start). Every time I have used a valeter for any valetting job, I have been disappointed with the result - regardless of the cost. But on each of my 4 cars that I have had paint sealing treatment I have been very pleased with the result - so in this instance by heart & head overruled my wallet.

I appreciate that my experience may not be typical, but it did not encourage me to go down the valeter route - sorry.angel_sadangel.gif

We're picking up our new car tomorrow :j

when we made the deal we asked the guy to throw in this treatment (as well as car mats and a few other bits ;) ) ..hey if you don't ask you don't get lol

Hope it works as good as you all say :T

Gap insurance can be bought for about £90 on the net if you shop around. The "free" gap insurance that murphy_the_cat refered to is usually if you are the first owner i.e. you bought the car new, but its worth checking. I have gap insurance just because it means that if the car is a total loss I can just step back into a new one. If the car was decalred a loss at two years old I would only get what the insurance co value it at at that point so would either have to stump up the difference for a new car again or go back and by a used car.

Ref the sealent products - dont pay the dealer - they are massive profit centres, but ask if they will chuck it in - tell them its the difference between buying and walking and most will give it to you, although I had diamondbrite on my last car and didnt really think it did much. The no waxing for 3 years was a bit iffy as the shine dissapeard in a few weeks and you had to keep washing the car with their special products which to me looked like t cut, but if its free go for it.

your absolutelty right in the respect that my car was a brand new purchase. I should have made that clear in my post.

My previous car was Diamond Brite'd and IMHO it looked as good as the day I bought it 4 1/2 years later - but I do look after my cars in the cleaning department and I do use the Diamond Brite Shampoo & Diamond Brite Conditioner method for my car maintainence.

My currrent car is Supagarded, so I look forward to seeing how this one performs.
Dear ? mabye, but I do enjoy a job well done.

this is what does my head in valeters that think they are good but they are not, this is what gives us professional valeters a bad name that is why i give a 100% satisfaction gurantee with all my valets if the customer is not happy then i am not happy if it takes me 2 hour or 2 days i will make the customer happy as a good word travels but not as fast a bad word.

but have you ever thought about applying a sealant your self ?? worth looking into

I've thought about it, but as I only change my/my wifes car every 4 years or so, I try and get the treatment as part of the negotiating/purchase deal.(or at least a contribution towards it).

p.s. with your attitude towards customer service you deserve to have a strong and thriving business:beer: :T . Sadly, it is not a common attitude to come across any more.
