European City Break

Looking for recommendations for two couples lates 30's for a birthday weekend. Somewhere we can go on a cheap but not necessarily budget flight for a couple of days. Nice hotels, 30 something style nightlife, shops etc.

    I'd recommend Budapest - cheap, romantic & fab. We've stayed 4 nights b&b in a 4* hotel for £186 and £232

    try these threads - http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=46205&highlight=budapest

Also try Barcelona, not so cheap, but good.

both v romantic & not overly run over by oiks:D

In my experience best thing to do is decide what airport you want to fly from, then get a list of where you can fly from there with the budget airlines, and decide where you want to go.

There are very few cities where you can't find something to enjoy for a couple of nights, so you can't really go wrong in my opinion!
  • I'd recommend Rome, we just got back from there, its amazing, got Ryanair flights c£30 and rented an apartment there, https://www.rentalinrome.com. If you visit the website check out the Alex Apartment in the Colesseum section. Cheap, near everything, and a hot tub!!! The food is great, the shopping is superb, we're going back next year for sure!
