Argos - can I take this vac back?

Bought a new Samsung upright vac from Argos last night after my old Dyson died on Wednesday (£30 off, very pleased!). Got it home, husband assembled it, and I couldn't wait to try it. Although I had no problem with the suction, it is SO heavy, and impossible to manoeuvre in any direction but a straight line, and even then I have to heave it to move it.
Woke up this morning with aching right arm and shoulder muscles! I've used the vac again this morning and I hate it already, it's far too heavy for me.
Can I take it back and exchange it for something lighter? The reason I ask is that the return statement on the back of the receipt says "if for any reason you are not completely happy with your purchase simply return the item unused... within 30 days for purchase we will exchange it or offer a full refund"
But I have used it! If I hadn't used it I wouldn't have known I wasn't completely happy with it!
I've cleaned the brushes (which are full of my hair already!) and emptied and cleaned the bin, but they will know that I have used it when I say why I want to return it.
If they do let me return it, can anyone recommend a lighter replacement? Has anyone got experience of cylinder vacs as I've never tried one and often wondered how good they are?

Argos will take it back if it looks reasonable. Put it back in its packaging as best you can and I'm sure they will refund on it.0

Be aware when you take it back they might not change it so try a different store. I bought a wet vax and after the first use found it to be rubbish, I took it back to Argos and they told me that as I had used it they couldn' take it back. I then tried a different store who quite happily took it back for me.TopCashback £1792.63My Little World0

Thanks, will give it a go. Not sure what to replace it with though. Would ideally like another Dyson but can't afford one at the moment - I had my old one for over ten years and used it almost daily and had no trouble with it in all that time.
How do cylinders compare with uprights for suction, anyone know?Extra Payment Every Week Challenge:

A lot depends on the wattage of the motor as to how good they are at suction.0

Is it heavy because its sucking itself to the floor? My Vax hoover is very good and can literally glue itself to the flatter floors in the house. If this happens I just switch off and raise it from the floor a little as its got an adjustment on it.0

Do you know, I did think that at first, because all my carpets are different thicknesses and I have been having to constantly adjust the brush height when going between rooms, which I didn't have to do with the old one. And it is a lot easier to push on the laminate floor in the conservatory, but still not very manoeuverable. It's definately heaviest on my hall carpet, which is the squidgiest carpet because it's got a really good thick underlay.
Mmm.. maybe it's me after all. Perhaps I should perservere with it a bit, I might get used to it. Not for too long though, I can't cope with these achy arms every day!Extra Payment Every Week Challenge:

Just get your husband to hoover instead then!
I do all the hoovering in my house, and am quite happy to as my girlfriend does other chores instead.0 -
Just remember to keep swapping arms and it will be a good upper body workout for free0
