Hi,
try a drop of turps or white spirit, and rub gently with an old tooth brush, or maybe
vinegar or lemon juice.
Wouldn't bother washing the new sheets first, unless they were very stiff.0 -
i would just take them back and get a refund0

As nickj says I would take them back for a refund, but if they were extremley good value and you want to keep them then you need to use a solvent such as nail polish remover or methyated spirit, white spirit will work but may leave your clothes with a smell even after washing.
As for washing sheets, I always do as they have can have chemicals in them to make them look nice and they can irritate skin.0 -
I bought a WD40 pen that removes sticky residue from clothing0
