Claiming PPI - Advise Please

Options
I have been looking through hubbys paperwork tonight and going to try and claim back PPI. He is currently in a DMP plan paying off all the debts in question and just looking for some advise before I send of first letters.

1. He had two loans to RBS - both single premium PPI and second loan was paying of first with them and credit card debts. Should there be a seperate letter for each loan or should I put details of both in same letter as same company. (I have original loan agreements for both). Also had two credit cards also with RBS. I have some statements for each dating back to 2006 but don't have original start dates of how long paying PPI or original agreements. Will I need these and again as also to RBS should these be bundled together. (with loans?).

2. He also had a loan with Bank of Scotland. I have account number and no other details. This is nearly cleared under DMP. Will I need original paperwork etc. I don't have details re PPI but I know for sure it will be on there as hubby has said he just always signed what advisor told him to and he always thought that needed to have insurance as bank had told him this. So I am sure that they will have added it on.

3. Also had a loan with HFC bank. This was for a PC he took out in Currys. He took out on interest free credit for a year but told them that he wanted to pay it sooner as was being made redundant in 4 months and was going to pay with redundancy money. They have added PPI on although he told them this. (Incidently he tried to pay this of when he got redundancy money and they told him that he couldnt, that he needed to pay it up  and the amount more than trebled. (He is very naive when it comes to things like this and just believes what people tell him). Again I don't have original agreement for this but have a statement with details.

Also if I send to companys requesting info of all PPI paid (for companies I dont have full details of), can I do this through free letter template or will I need to do a SAR and send of a tenner.

Sorry for long winded post but want to make sure I do everything right.

Thanks

Hello Hamish222, The RBS loans can go on the same letter, personaly I would do seperate letters for credit cards, these banks are easily confused! The only reason you would need anmore paperwork from RBS is if you don't trust them to work out the amounts owed, but they are quite good about that.

Send a letter to BOS stating account number and mis sold, you can always ask for the agreement at a later date if need be.

HFC are well known for this just adding PPI so go get 'em.

If you want all info on PPI you will need to send SAR'S.

    Good luck
