Turn a dome tent frame into a greenhouse
Just a thought, but has anyone tried making a greenhouse out of an old tent frame?
You know the small dome tents that you can buy, you just cross the two main poles across the middle and tie them together at the top so it looks like a little igloo, then you put the tent skin on top. I was just thinking, if you don't use the tent anymore , perhaps the kids have outgrown it you could cover it with one of those heavy duty waterproof polythene sheets like the one that bought form B&Q.
Not sure how you would keep it in place, perhaps sew it onto it or something.
You would have the rings at the bottom of each end of the pole so that you could peg it down like you would a tent.
Anyone done this?
I may give this a go when the weather gets a bit warmer.

I haven't done it with a tent frame, but I have with a gazebo frame. I imagine it would work, because my gazebo one has worked fine and despite people on here's scepticism has stood up to whatever weather is thrown at it! The only hassle is in finding an inexpensive source of plastic sheeting (sounds like you got that one figured out though!).

I suppose it depends how much of it you need.
I only needed some to test my walk in greenhouse and bought a 3m x 4m very strong one from B&Q for just under £6.0 -
Hi,I did this last year, covering it with a clear patio table cover that cost £1
Just bury the edges with soil.It worked so well I shall be useing it again this
year.I grew squash under it until the cold and heavy rain went away.If you think this has helped make my day and hit the thanks button:beer:0 -

On this occasion I am happy to be wrong. Wouldn't have lasted ten minutes where I live though.Freedom is not worth having if it does not include the freedom to make mistakes.0 -

Please don't shatter my illusions regarding the weather to be expected in a happy place
