my husband has been made redundant and i am on incapacity benefit the job centre said my husband will have to go on income based,as not enough contrabutions,they have advised us today that because i get 84.50 incapacity benefit a week my husband can only get 47.50 per week is this correct please , thanks for all your help,i also have now been told that i owe 120.00 in working tax credit .

I dont understand the bit about the tax credits at the end?...If you owe it,pay it back.
If you think you dont then appeal it.Having a coke with youis even more fun than going to San Sebastian, Irun, Hendaye, Biarritz, Bayonne

She could appeal but she needs to ask for a full breakdown of the overpayment. Speak to the CAB and they will help you with the appeal, otherwise you could pay it off in installments.0

Thanks damzel , not sure if the over payment is correct, if we do owe it back can we pay it at a reduced amount0

Thank you,my husband was made redundant on the 20th jan,and they said they owed us 472.00 they sent us this amt and now say we owe them 120.00,the unemployment office say due to us getting this payment my husbands jsa wont start till 04/02/09 instead of 20/01/09,its all so confusing.0
