Percentages of Portfolios/Savings

Reading about shares and portfolios made me realised something about the portfolios. Just what percentages are within other people's portfolios. I know that portfolios are entirely investment but at least I can say my non portfolios:

Savings:
ISA: 44%
Bonds: 16%
Passbook: 40%

I have to admit that I do have an emergency fund which is actually larger than mentioned above savings but it is entirely for emergency and containing entire year expenses (rents/foods/bills) in case of losing my job. Basically, literally untouched.

But what about your percentage of portfolios/savings? I mean, do people invest heavily in funds/shares in comparison to cash and such? I would be interesting to see how other savers/investors percentage wise.

Tbh depends on the person. Dunstonh has about 20% has then 80% investments from what I can remember, but then again he knows what hes doing!

    Cash: 89%
    Investments: 11%

I fill up my cash ISA each year and put £100 a month into investments. As a student I may need cash to help myself out and I don't have the security (if you can call it that) of a fulltime job.

However I imagine when I get to 25, the %'s will be the other way around.

 What is the point of these questions with this thread? gozomark. I am just curious about other people's portfolios and savings percentage. Sorry, it is seems to me that you are fond of making these short questions remarks. :p

@Lokolo Well, that make perfect sense as a student. I hope you get to your graduation saving mark!

because the percentage in savings v investments should vary according to age and your risk profile, so figures in isolation mean zilch

I can ask the same in a longer question if you prefer...

Well I am 20, I am adventerous I would say but then again I am a student with only a fulltime job. My investments are high risk and the investment themselves are 70% equties, 20% cash and 10% 'other' (morningstar doesn't seem to know ).

Obviously, as I said earlier, when I am older and have a secure job I will put more into investments.

But the information of age and risk profile are not necessary for this thread. While I have no doubt that financial world is capable of figuring it out by science, I am not part of the financial world and thus the age and risk profile have no basic what so ever for me. :p

That is not to say I will kick your questions onto dark side of the moon. Far from it, it make perfect sense so posters, if there are more are welcome to comment on their vague situation as well.

As for myself, I am twenty two years old minimum wage worker who want to achieve financial independence in the future. Knowing that every pence is precious to me, investments are generally abhorrence for me although I am gradually changing my view on that point.

    I started 2008 with a 50% / 50% split.

    It's now nearer 80% cash / 20% investment.

Unfortunately the cash value hasn't increased, just the percentage.
