PPI, What now?

I have received a letter today from HBOS registering my complaint regarding the insurance that was put on my loan. They have stated that it could take anywhere up to eight weeks to deal with this complaint. Is this correct and where do I go from here???

Yes this is correct, you have to give a company 8 weeks to look at your complaint.

Yes as Dreamer confirms its 8 weeks in full they have to respond.

If not successful first time round (not resolved) you should have the opportunity to write to them again until you exhaust their complaints procedures, they should in the final response enclose a leaflet of how you can take this further for example with the Financial ombudsman service (FOS), good luck though, keep at them, and please keep us posted and just yell if you require any help.;)

Hi there , I very recently dealt with HBOS to claim back ppi insurance for my partner. I used first template letter from this website and within 2 weeks they got in touch asking for more than the 8 weeks to look into it. I agreed, then 3 weeks after first 8 weeks ( if that makes sense ) they wrote to say that they were at fault ,and would be in touch to confirm amount to be refunded :T :T
Just thought I would post because Ive heard that its not uncommon for HBOS to ask for more time , as they did with me!!! Fingers crossed , keep us posted

Same thing happened with me too just waiting for the letter with the actual figures on now.

It is frustrating when you receive this kind of letter as you want for them to just say yes or no but all will come good in the end xx
