Car Insurance - Difficult Situation

Hi,
I have seen a number of posts on short term car insurance but mine is a bit different (from the posts I have read anyway).
Basically I need car insurance for 1 day (To move a car, I would get someone else to do it but im brininging it up from the bottom of the country so no one else will volunteer.)
The problem is mainly that I have had my licence 6 months.
Being 23 is a slight problem but the main one is the 6 months of licence.
All the short term companies (which look legitimate) reject me because I have had my licence less than 12 months. A few others cos I am 23.
Would taking a policy out and cancelling in the 14 day cooling off period suffice? Or is that risky? And hard to ensure a full refund?
Does anyone know of a company which would insure me?

I think you only get a full refund if the policy is taken out and cancelled (within 14 days) before the policy comes into effect. If you take out a policy and cancel it, and you have had the benefit of the insurance, then the refund would be less than full (and may also include any cancellation charges).
i may be wrong though...Indecision is the key to flexibility0 -
That sounds more like the old insurance companies lol.
Any idea of any companies that would insure me for 1 day?
Or I mite have to put off picking up the car for 6 months lol... :eek:0 -
who currently insures the car? could you get them to add you as a temporary driver for the day and you pay them the cost?
or do you have any other policies or are you a named driver on another policy? you could maybe add this car as a temporary car on that policy?
just some ideas, not sure if any problems doing what i suggested so check out before doing anything!0 -
Thanks for the ideas guys, it turns out that I can add the car to my current policy as a 2nd car
