housing/ council tax benefit and JSA

Me and my partner are recieving housing benefit, council tax benefit, tax credits. My partner has put in a claim to recieve JSA as his college has recently gone bankrupt and has lost his investment (cdl loan) of £8000 (another story)
Anyway he put the claim in last week, they said he may be able to get it backdated to when he recieved the letter telling him of the bankrupcy (which was November)
I work Full time as a childminder, we have 1 daughter.
So my question is if we recieve the benefits, does claiming JSA effect the other benefits we recieve? i know i have to let them know how much he is recieving per week before they can work it out. I dont really want a massive overpayment now to pay off.
Does anyone know how they work it out?
Thanks in advance.
Jo

Depends what benefits you're getting. And depends what he is awarded as JSA.
Need more facts to give any worthwhile advice.

We are getting full housing benefit, full council tax benefit, child benefit, child tax credits and working family tax credits.
He doesnt know what JSA he will be getting as yet.
Does that help in anyway at all?
