Clamped outside my house because permit fell off windscreen

I had to pay £120 this morning to a company called Ethical (haha) Parking Management. I was parked in a private car park but I am a resident and have a permit, but it fell off my windscreen. The lady on the phone assured me about an appeals procedure that i could follow on the back of my paperwork...which states that any appeals due to the permit falling off the windscreen would not be accepted.
Is there anything I can do to get this money back? I dont like the thought that i can get charged this amount for the effects of gravity...
