Narcolepsy & Fibro

Hi
I have both Fibromyalgia and Narcolepsy and had my first DLA application refused a couple of years ago.
Can I ask what it actually takes to help get this?
I had a doctors report stating my conditions and a Rheumatologist report saying I had Fibro, Depression, and panic attacks (wasn't aware I had the panic attacks), yet I was still refused.
The doc who came out wasn't very nice and all he commented on was my husband and I "bickering" as to what I can and cannot do. He also made a big point straight out of saying that I had extremely good dental health???!!!! Bizarre!!!

I am on medication for the Narcolepsy and although it helps with the sudden sleep attacks it doesn't stop them all together and I do have to nap several times a day or else I cannot function - I go into an automatic behaviour and behave as though I'm drunk.
I don't have meds for the Fibro as I discussed with the doc my concerns for taking more medication on top of the Modafinil and he infact wasn't aware of what I could take for the Fibro due to the Narcolepsy meds.

I'd love anyones opinion on this as it seems us Fibro and Narcolepsy sufferers are not taken seriously.

Contact your local DIAL centre for help filling out the forms.
    http://www.dialuk.info/
they told my friend they have a 98% success rate. They certainly helped her, she got High rate for both components,
  • Get help as advised above,or try the CAB or welfare rights,it helps tp concentrate on the care/mobility needs that you have as opposed to the medical conditoon(s)as this is what DLA is paid for.
It may also help to look at websites for the conditions you have as they often have advice on benefits, also consider joining the benefits and work site as they offer alot of excellent advice on DLA but they do charge £20 membership, also helpful is the yourable site
    good luck
