Goodbye WebSaver1, Hello WebSaver2
1carminestocky is going to go to mental but as of today WebSaver1 is no longer available.
It has been replaced with WebSaver2
WebSaver2 offers a minimum discount of 6% against the standard tariff.
WebSaver1 rates from today after the reduction can be found here for gas and here for electricity
WebSaver2 has a cancellation fee of £30 per fuel if cancelled before 31/12/2009
Price Guarantee 2010 also launches today which fixes the new rates until 31/03/2010 and carries a 2% premium for both gas and electricity. There is also cancellation fees of £35 per fuel if you cancel prior to the end of the agreement.

So have the prices for websaver1 gone up? Or will they be coming down with the price cuts as usual? I.e what is the benefit of websaver20
-
I think, Rian, the change of the tie-in period to next year is more important to British Gas than differences in price.0

WebSaver 1 gave a 10% discount compared to the standard rates.
WebSaver 2 gives a minimum 6% discount compared to the standard rates. I'm not sure how significant the word minimum is. Perhaps different regions get more than 6%.
The reates for WebSaver1 have come down with the price decrease and are what I posted above because WebSaver1 always guarenteed to be cheaper than the standard tariff by 10%.0 -
Is click energy 6 cheaper than the websaver 2 or do I need to change tariffs? Will have a look into prices later but thought someone on here may have the quick answer

I was talking to someone last week who thought exactly the same about his current BG online tariff - Click Energy 2. You have to keep up with these things once you've sold your soul to the Click Energy/Websaver Devil (TM).

So is websaver cheaper than my click 6? I do usually keep up to date with switching tariff so shouldn't be too much of an issue

Impossible to tell for the individual, of course. On average consumption (20,500 gas, 3,300 leccy) in the Yorkshire region, they've just undercut EDF Online by £2 per annum. :money:  :j :T
But, of course, there are no exit fees with Click 6. But you seem keen on the company so maybe you aren't bothered about committing yourself?
PS As a gneral rule of thumb, each online tariff they bring out is generally cheaper than the one it replaces. I'm sure their accounts dept have worked out there will be enough naive people on an old Click Energy product who think they are getting the bset possible deal when in actual fact what they are doing is funding BGs cynical attempts to get to the top of the switching sites....Call me Carmine....
