Right to exist???

I'm not sure if I've got this in the correct place but here goes.
We're extending/renovating a property in Scotland and while we do we are living in temp accomodation on site. The accomodation is prefab units bolted together to provide 3 bed living.
The council have us paying council tax on both the derelict property we are renovating and this temp accomodation.
My query is whether anyone knows whether these temp units will have a right to exist? If so after how many years? We have 2 different names for the properties and we are paying utilities to these units.
Anyone have any idea???

Best to contact your council for those details.0

In England/Wales you would need planning permission for the prefab unit, which is usually only temporary as when house is finished, these structures are usually removed. If you are querying your Council Tax band would you please state whether you are in England, Scotland or Wales0

You should be able to claim a Class A exemption on the empty property whilst it is undergoing work.I no longer work in Council Tax Recovery but instead work as a specialist Council Tax paralegal assisting landlords and Council Tax payers with council tax disputes and valuation tribunals. My views are my own reading of the law and you should always check with the local authority in question.0
