It's a pity Ken Clarke....

  • Clarke probably would make an excellent 'official' shadow chancellor.

The trouble is that his pro-euro history gives Labour/government friendly media a very easy target. When he was appointed, virtually the first question the BBC journalists asked him (without exception) was about europe.

I get the impression that the Tories are trying to avoid making any gaffes, rather than pro-actively making the agenda. Almost as if they are collectively holding their breath until they win the GE. Hence Clarke gets appointed to a senior, but not *that* senior a position.
  • Didn't his party reject him as their leader on 3 occasions? Probably because he tells it how he sees it, and to hell with who it might offend, I wonder what his user name is on this board?:D

Isn't the leader of the opposition, I've just seen him on Sky, he has charisma, authority and a style that would have made mince meat of Brown in the last few months, Cameron and Osborne are lightweights in comparison.

Clarke is an old school politician and would deal with most of these muppets like Brown, Cameron and Osbourne.

Not sure of his views but he'd better than these monkeys at the job.
  • He peddles cigarrettes. The world's most dangerous (in terms of people dying) drug. For me, that means he's a non-starter.

Because that makes him a bad person?

I think the world's a bit more complicated than that.

Yep, definatley makes him a bad person in my book. Of course, just my opinion though.

I still venture over to DFW, nice to see people winning the battle of debts. But from a personal pov protecting my gains is what drives me now. But according to you know who, I don't exist;)
