If its XP just use the in-built burner tool. Just select the pictures then right click and go to the send to menu. pick your cd burner and a balloon will appear and tell you you have files waiting to be burned. Click the balloon and then click file and write these files to cd and the wizard will open...Follow the instructions and your done.0

Assuming you are using xp, Windows will write to your CD drive.
Select the images you want, right click and 'send to' the drive.
Whoops beat me to it, better worded than mine scooter! That gum you like is coming back in style.0 -

Not much luck, have got XP SP2, when I right click, I got send to corel photo album (this is on trial only for 60 days), I have burnt a CD using this and it does not work). Must be doing something wrong and the other options are send to compress Cd burner. The Sonic cd burner which came with the Computer will not let me burn CD unless I upgrade. Not sure whatelse to do. Thanks for your help.0 -

Try this way then... Open my computer then open the folder that contains the photos. highlight the photos you want to burn then drag them onto your cd burner.0 -
Hi
If you can't get XP to work, there are lots of free cd/dvd burning programs out there.
One of these is
http://www.burn4free.com/
Hope this helps0 -
Its possible that CD burning has been disabled, go to my computer and right click on the CD burner drive, select the properties tab and check that CD writing is enabled on the drive. If it is not check the recording box.
If there is no recording tab then a registry tweak may be required as in this

Thanks for all your help, I think, it has something to do with upgrading. Has anybody found the DVD/CD burner which came with their Dell was OK to burn? My friend came to have a look and he said, you have to upgrade to be able to use the other facilities. The burn CD icon is greyed in and it takes me to the sonic website to buy an update. It will let me do any copy to copy. I can use the DVD burner all right but I have another software for that. I will download a free cd burner software on the internet. I did manage to burn the cd for the photo using Corel Album, this is on trial and after 60 days, I will have to buy to use it. Thanks again.0

Did you check the DVD/CD burner drive in My Computer, properties?
I have Sonic and that disabled the windows burner. A friend has a dell and the CD/DVD burning facilities work fine. That gum you like is coming back in style.0 -
I have download the burn4free but am not sure how to use. Do you use this software? Thanks0

I have sonic but found it only a nightmare. I have uninstalled it and now cannot burn. Its possible that CD burning has been disabled, go to my computer and right click on the CD burner drive, select the properties tab and check that CD writing is enabled on the drive. If it is not check the recording box.
When I select properties I only get GENERAL, AUTOPLAY, HARDWARE or SHARING. Nothing that I can see will allow me to 'check the recording box'0
