Mint-beware!

Options
I have just transfered a balance to MINT using their offer of 0% balance transfer with a 3% balance transfer fee.

I opened my statement this morning to find I had been charged interest on the transfer fee!? They informed me on the phone that the transfer fee is treated as a purchase and intererst will be charged on it for two months?? If only this applied to true purchases!!!

After much discussion this interest will be credited to my account!!!! So remember check your statements.......

  • Someone didn't read the T&C's?

BT fees are usually fair game for interest since the only thing that's advertised at 0% is the BT itself.

Some of the more enlightened firms that actually charge interest on the fee have a payment hierarchy that results in the fee being paid off in the first month (or two.)
    Conjugating the verb 'to be":
-o I am humble -o You are attention seeking -o She is Nadine Dorries
