Hi,
Looked at my switching options as I am hoping to move house in April, and am on EDF online 5 which is about £800 per year for both. (£40 for Gas (13000KWh) and £34 for elec (4200KwH)
House is simialr to this one we are in at the mo, with maybe a few more halogen spots lights annoyingly.
Anyway Energyhelpline shows EDF online 6 is cheapest for dual fuel at £894, (£75pm) They do have high coal generation though
But I was looking at Ebico (£490) as I found that my summer gas bills are so low that I don't get out of the higher tier 1 bracket, thus pushing the cost up which isn't shown on the calculators.
Was also interested in Scottish Power H2O tarrif due to its eco properties, at £433 pa, but would have been very interested in the dual fuel option until I looked at the gas prices that are about 0.5p more than their standard online tarrif. Meaning a £50 increase over the year.
So its not just looking at the dual fuel amounts, and for gas that varies so much the amounts the tier 1 charges (Npower have a variable figure)
Any suggestions?
