Cyprus Paphos Transfer - Advice needed

I've just booked a flight and hotel to Paphos and now need to arrange a transfer. I haven't been to Cyprus before and was hoping one of you might be able to recommend whether I should book a transfer or just get a taxi at the airport (only going to Paphos - around 15km).

Loads of taxi's available at Paphos airport and reasonable cheap too. Agree a price before you get in the taxi though and don't forget to haggle with them.

Thanks wagster, especially for the tip about agreeing a price first. Found a reference on a Cyprus website which suggests it might be around 7GBP so a big saving over transfers.

What's the hotel's name Gumboots, I've been to Paphos a few times and might be able to give you an idea of the distance.

Booked into Kefalos Beach Tourist Village - Address is Tombs of Kings Road.

About 15-20 mins away since they opened the new through road onto the Tomb of the Kings road. So much easier now

Hi Wagster, Thanks for the info.

Coming out on Sunday (19th) for a week. I'm not expecting too much of the weather but managed to get a deal that worked out cheaper than a week-long break in the UK so decided to give it a go.

I take it from 'coming out' that you are already there! Holiday or living?

Living here

Weather is very strange at the moment for this time of year. Normally it is like a typical british winter- cold and wet but for some reason it isn't happening. Getting the odd day of rain but mostly sunny and warm during the day if you like 16-18 degrees.
The ski-ing has only just opened up Troodos Mountains this weekend as there has been no snow at all, when you consider the ski-ing season is usually late Dec through to March and they have only just managed a foot of snow then there must be strange weather happening.
Evening through to morning can be quite chilly if you are used to the hot temps out here. So bring some warm clothes

Check out this website Cyprus Living if you want loads of info in and around Paphos as well as Cyprus in General. It is run by Ex-Pats out here and aimed at the Paphos area, you don't need to register for the forum to read the posts and you can gain alot of info from people who have lived here for years.

No complaints from me if the weather is 'better than normal' for the time of year. I've just had a quick look at Cyprus Living. It looks a really usefulsite, particularly the forums which seem as friendly a community as MSE. I will probably be in and out of it for the rest of the week.
