hi i had great service there!!!! my £19 pound spex are great they look no different to the ones i got from vision express but cost £130 in fact there better!!! they do only have 1 room because i had to take out my contact lenses in the other and there was only a sink in there...maybe your thinking of somewhere else, when i went to pick up my son's spex on saturday there was only 1 optician and a few asda dressed staff in there, and 1 person waiting to go in to be tested, the place is tiny anyway my son had designer spex 2 pairs for £59 with his nhs voucher, and we WOULD NOT GO ANYWHERE ELSE!0

My daughter was bullied in to what specs she could have, the optician gave her no choose even choosing the frames for her. As a 14yo she wanted designer frames which she would have purchased for herself but the optician said not to be silly and she ended up with a pair of Umbro boys specs. Unfortunately i was in with another optician at the time with my youngest son so had no say till the paperwork was already written up and was told it was too late to cancel them as it would have already have gone on the system and i would have been charged a cancellation fee. In future i will be sticking to vision express. When my partner took his frames to vision express and explained the service we had received we were told we were not the only ones to have received poor treatment. Thanks to all who post constructively.

cor £19 for a complete pair of specs! bargain!
where i work (an independant) the cheapest complete pair of specs is £80!! £60 for lenses (which btw do not cost anywhere near that!) and our cheapest frames are £20!

. I really think I would have absolutely insisted on the order being re-done (who cares if it had already gone through on the computer?). A 14 year old cannot be party to a legally-binding contract so there's no way you should have let them do this. I think you should name and shame the particular store....
There will always be someone that has had a bad experience at any shop at some point in time. You can't tell me all Vision Express customers are 100% happy all of the time!
I have personally experienced Specsavers & Vision Express however I found the service more professional & not to mention cheaper at my local ASDA (Which is Tamworth as stated in the OP). If I ever had any problems then they have been resolved without fuss and they usually always give vouchers for the inconvienience.0
