Big hugs to her and you. Have you tried NHS Direct? Were they any use?
Hiya - I rang them about 11pm and a nurse from the out of hours service rang back and offered me an appointment for sometime after midnight, but it was miles away and my car isn't working properly, so I asked her if she thought it was urgent - she said she was happy for me to treat her at home overnight, and ring the GP first thing, or ring them back if she got worse. She might have to go into hospital though if I can't keep fluids down her soon :( because they get dehydrated quickly at that age. Fingers crossed it doesn't come to that.

  • Snaggles, does she seem dehydrated... i think you can still see her fontanelle, does it look sunken? Give her skin a wee pinch, does it bounce back or seem not very plump....

Snaggles even the odd teaspoon of water will help, or an ice lolly if you have any.
Even if you could get her to suck an ice cube or a wet face cloth or something. It all helps.

Maz - I can't feel a fontanelle any more - my baby must be all grown up! Her skin doesn't seem too bad yet - her lips are a bit dry but her tongue isn't drying out, and her nappy was slightly wet (not much). I'm keeping a very close eye on her.

Jinky - she's happy to drink, in fact she is asking for juice regularly - it's trying to get her to sip it not gulp it down that's the problem (No jokes about her drinking like her mother! :rotfl:). She throws it back up within about 15 minutes but I'm hoping that's enough for her body to absorb small amounts.

Thanks to everyone who has asked about her - I'll keep you up to date xxx

  • awww bless her!! shows what i know, eh, i guess big babies don't have fontanelles anymore, they must close up...!

i like jinky's wet face cloth idea. i was going to say but thought it would make me sound manky! ice lollies or ice cubes even? - as all suggested by jinks.....

    beanie - i love you!!!
