Wouldn't surprise me a great deal - they were late with it anyway, and the backup CD wasn't included in the box either, so I reckon they just rushed it out.

There was a quality control sheet included, however, but it didn't say how long it had been tested for.

Saying that - I did stress tests myself which didn't show any problems.

Coincidentally with this AMD fix, I had also been corresponding with ATI as the original thought was a problem with the graphics card - they had me do some sort of system report and they picked up that it needed some sort of fix for the processor - good on them!!
We have responded to your issue.

Solution:One major issue in your problem report shows that your system may not be set up correctly for the dual core processor. Please follow the directions at the following location:

Of course, by the time I had got that, Mesh had sent me the one mentioned before, so I haven't done anything with that, as the computer is now in a box waiting for this returns label/sheet (which was promised today, but have just discovered that it hasn't been sent out until today ). I have been told that it has been placed on a "fast track" or something, so that instead of an 8 day turnaround, it should only be 2-3 days, but again, I don't care. As long as they can guarantee me a fully working and compatible machine, I don't care if it takes 2-3 weeks. :wall:

If i was you id give Trading standards a call, bet you a fiver they've heard of Mesh before :-)

Bottom line is the PC isnt fit for the porpose for which it was bought and so you are by LAW free to demand a full refund under the 'sale of goods act'

I think, though, that you're supposed to give them an opportunity to fix the problem first? Anyway, in theory the thing should be going back this week - if it comes back and it's still not up to scratch, I will definately be pushing for a replacement/refund.

Interesting stuff this!! I have a Mesh PC purchased in 2000 and it has been brilliant, one noisy fan replaced under warranty, recommended them to friends etc and all have been pleased. I know its no consolation but you must have got one of those Friday afternoon ones, (like cars). Funny thing is I've been thinking of replacing this one, but because its been so reliable ---- have hesitated. Have heard Evesham have good reputation but they are more expensive. Lets hope Mesh do a good job this time on the repair.

Must admit their Customer Services do seem to let them down though!! Just for information - "say NO to 0870"
    have some alternatives. See here:
    http://www.saynoto0870.com/lettersearch.php
Click on "Search to find an alternative number", then enter 'Mesh Computers'. There are some half a dozen non 0870 numbers, which might save money.
