I love Morrisons especially for store cupboard and frozen stuff, however I do find their veg and salad type stuff needs to be used up that day or definitely the next - it does not seem to keep like say Saisburys.Grocery Challenge £139/240 until 31/01

Hehe. Morrisons. Where I spend precisely 26.2% of my life.
Good for "northern" stuff like seabrook crisps and ready made yorkshire pudding.
Always have lots of "junk" food on special offer. There is nearly always some sort of pengiun type biscuit on BOGOF. Good for pack lunches. 2l soft drinks as well. Currently pepsi max BOGOF. Good for parties.
They have real live butchers and bakers. I saw some sort of offal/bones type thing being sold the other day for 19p. Marked as "ideal for stock". Fresh fish is yummy.
Bettabuy brands I use are:
Orange/Apple 1l cartons
Tin tomatoes
Tin beans
Passata
Cling film
Foil
Noodles
Flour
Water
Bettabuy pasta is not nice in my opinion, but there normal own brand is good, esp the egg pasta if your budget stretches that far. But I think you can get bigger more economical packets elsewhere.
They sell the be-ro baking book in the flour section.
Always have lots of home stuff in the seasonal aisle. They also have a "first home" brand for cheapish homeware stuff.
If you have a car, the oil they sell in the petrol stations are rather cheap, as well as big economy bottles of screenwash in the winter. Check out the carwash and their miles card scheme as well. A free fiver off your shopping every 333 litres. Better than nectar anyway.
You will need a pound for the trolley, but you can buy a charity keyring at Customer Service.0 -
I went to morrisons today as I can usually get stuff there that tesco doesnt stock. I was going to try and find time to find a butcher and go in because I need some spare rib type meat - and in Morrisons there it was, at £1.95. Not the cheapest I bet, but it certainly made me smile as im currently trying to recreate chinese meals. I also bought some steak for valentines night and a big piece of fresh cod for £2.40, and a reduced frozen chicken at £1.20. They usually have some other decent offers in the frozen section - cod in parsley sauce springs to mind and I still have two boxes in the freezer!
