Yes, yes and yes (assuming both Digiboxes are HD).

Current box is just a Sky+.

If i take up this Sky HD offer of 49 quid a month, but also want Multiroom, will it be an extra tenner a month for HD, and an extra tenner a month for multiroom too? And i only have one phone extension socket downstairs, will the cable have to be routed all the way up to my room? i live in rented accomodation so i dont know how happy the landlord would be with holes drilled into his walls.
or you can go to comet and get sky HD for £29 o_0

the reason that BOTH boxes need to be connected to a phone line on a multiroom sub, isn't just about the interactive services, or the so called research, it is to ensure both boxes are in the same property.

If sky didn't have that, what's stopping you, taking out a multiroom sub at £10, and putting the box in a totally different location.

with the phoneline there, the boxes randomly call out, just to confirm the are connected, and the phone line matches the account details.

as for the cable coming through the wall.. yes that is perfectly normal, just to to go through the wall, and be sealed with silicone!

ioscorpio - I just edited my last post.... It might make sense now?! lol.

Basically - you only need it plugged into the phone line if you was to order sky box office films etc. (*this can be done by calling them aswell though*)

Please stop talking rubbish - they both need to be connected for multiroom.

Ive not heard about this! Is this a new offer? Do i get a Sky HD box for 29 quid, as an existing customer, or is it just for new customers?

i have sent an email to sky coz it looks like they are trying to con us. this months bill ran upto the 23rd february and we have already paid it. we were finally notified on 16th that we could complete our order for a hd box. we did and opted for installation on 21st february. we got our paperwork through today and it says that we are going to pay a little more next month because it will be for a month and a bit. well i thought that would be ok if this just a month and a bit regarding the hd pack as the rest of our subscription is staying the same and has already been paid upto the 23rd. not only does it seem they have not considered this but they also say in the paperwork that the charge will start from the 16th even though it wont be installed until the 21st. they are going to charge us an extra £10 for the first month they say.
also on top of that the first month is free for the hd pack and it seems that also hasnt been considered.

they apply the charges, and then will apply a discount cancelling it out, so theoretically they still have to charge you the £9.75 for HD Pack, and then they'll discount it...

that's how i've always seen my bill worked out when getting discounts...

    thanks.
there will still be an issue if next months bill is charged from the 16th february when we have paid upto the 23rd and the hd pack wont be installed until the 21st.
