  • I used priceline and stayed at the hotel monople. There was not much available price wise and I think I paid £130 for two nights.Have you tried hotelcomparison.com
  • Have you looked on www.bbplanet.it - there's a vast assortment of B & B's, apartments and small hotels all over Italy. We have used them a few times. Also have a look on www.bed-and-breakfastinitaly.com.

We stayed in Marcolaura B&B just outside Bergamo last year for 4 nights. Its a really lovely location and Marco and Laura will ferry you to and fro to the bus stop at no extra cost.

Go to trip adviser is No 1 for B&B. Only draw back was we had to share a bathroom but they do have a room onsuite as well.

Lovely area, very Italien, plenty to do with great bus service. We visited bergamo, and another local lake with swimming pool. The B&B is also on a lake. It is very beautiful.
But if ever I stray from the path I follow
Take me down to the English Channel
Throw me in where the water is shallow And then drag me on back to shore!
'Cos love is free and life is cheap As long as I've got me a place to sleep
Clothes on my back and some food to eat I can't ask for anything more
  • I was looking for the same for 4 nights, going to Spain now however I did find two good ones around lake iseo

Hotel Lovere Resort & Spa >>
Was about £280, seems to have gone up

    Hotel Concaverde >>
    Very cheap good reviews
  • Hello,

If you haven't already found somewhere, have a look at sites like holidaylettings.co.uk. They have apartments/studios and bigger places.

Another site to try is owners-direct.

Join the YHA over here and you can use the youth hostels abroad. There is a good one in Menaggio which is on Lake Como (take train from Bergamo, change and Lecco) then get the ferry to Menaggio. If there are a few of you, you can book a room with a few bunks in it and private facilities otherwise its sharing and the shower areas are unisex. It is cheap n cheerful, you can go full board but I would advise B&B only and eat out or prepare your own food in the hostel.
  • Just another 15 mins from Como on the motorway and you are in Switzerland and at Lake Lugano. It is stunning and I highly recommend it if you are flexible on where you stay.

I don't know the prices but it is worth a look. Also, there is an outlet shopping place nearby worth a look!
