Where to stay in Tenerife?

We're off to Tenerife next Tuesday and need to get some accommodation sorted. Just wondering if anyone's got an idea of the best places to stay on the island at this time of year? We're going to have a hire car so not too fussed about things to do during the day, but want some decent bars and restaurants near by for the evening. And some decent weather! Anyways, any good ideas would be most appreciated.

Costa Adeje . It's on the outskirts of las Americas and it's where we prefer to go.Mostly 4+5* hotels though if you're looking for clubs you'd be better of in PDLA. Los Christianos is lovely too plenty of places to eat.
Wherever you go have a lovely time!

Los Cristianos was lovely but from what I remember it was fairly small, I tend to prefer a slightly larger town with more shops to mooch around. Costa Adeje is perfect with a few nice supermarkets, etc and I think there was a nice big beach - be careful where your hotel is as the hotels are quite spread out, some miles from the beach and centre, and some right on the edge of noisy las americas.
I've heard the north of the island gets bad weather a lot so any resorts up there are definitely to be avoided at this time of year.0 -
Have a look on https://www.tenerifeforum.com lots of recommendations on there
