Bank Charges

I have just gone over my overdraft limit for the first time BY FIVE PENCE!!! This happened on 9th February 2009. So far I have been charged £25 for honouring the offending direct debit and £5 for going over my limit. I am expected, so far, to be charged a further £45 for being over my limit at a rate of £5 per day. If I don't put the money in my account tomorrow (I have had to take money out of a credit card to cover me for this) then it could reach £90 by the time I get paid on 27th Feb. Is this fair? Am I entitled to claim it back? As I have never gone over before I'm not sure what action to take?
Thanks,
Lyndsey

  • Start the process and yes you can look at reclaiming the charges.
