I was in a similar situation a few years ago-if the powers that be decide they want you out then following the law with discipinaries is just a formality -although I would suggest you appeal-as is your legal right to do so-if only to give them the hassle of having to go through it -it may just stop them doing it to the next person.
As companies tighten their belts sadly we're going to see more and more of this type of thing.
Good luck -and may your next company be decent !

  • Aw thanks guys. Your support means a lot. :)

I did think about appealing - but as I've left things on fairly good terms with the centre manager and he's promised to give me a good reference, the last thing I want to do is p**s him off! :)

So I'm really not sure whether to appeal or not...

    I don't think I would appeal.

Almost every employer will ask your previous employer for a reference and I think that is worth more than anything you could gain from winning an appeal (which I don't think you would anyway, if the correct procedures were followed by the company).

Never do anything out of pride, someone once said. For your own good, I would move on and be positive about potential positions. You may end up with something even better, success is the best form of revenge.

    Good luck!
  • Hi guys

Just wanted to update you on the latest...

    I GOT THE JOB!!!!!!! :)

I start a week on Monday and it seems like such a nice company - and I'm already gonna be about 2k a year better off from day one!

I just wanted to take this opportunity to say thank you so much to everyone for all your help - this has been one of the most stressful times of my life - but I've been handed another chance.

Thank you all so much. :)

Congratulations, I'm glad it all worked out well!!! :j
  • Your fate lies in the emails you sent previously to "clients", the contents of the emails to this customer & especially the contents of the final email.

No one on here can judge that because you haven't published he content.

Well done Brucie - maybe it has all turned out to be a blessing in disguise and something you can learn from. Just don't start sending out E mails at the new place until you've worked out what management's reaction to them would be :D

    Good luck!

Brucie in this current climate I fear they are looking to move people on at little expense, I hope everything works out ok but I would also plan for the worst. .

A bit late I suppose, but in the current climate we ALL need to watch our backs. Companies will find ANY reason at all to get rid of employee's in the cheapest way possible. I'm on redundancy notice now, but ive had to be extremely careful for the past 6 months, the people I work for have been getting rid of some of their longest standing employee's by ANY mean's possible.
