Well, she only had to say so. Why should the poster be expected to read between the lines? What if he summised this and someone genuinely wasn't receiving E Mails that they wanted? I think it is better to take people at their word - and anyway why would she send him the test E Mail if she really didn't want any contact with him?
I don't know this - I said 'I think' this.0 -
The OP should use bullet points and put more white space in to explain what happened.
It makes it easier to read.I'm not cynical I'm realistic

Brucie in this current climate I fear they are looking to move people on at little expense, I hope everything works out ok but I would also plan for the worst. If they are going to dismiss you then they will, you get a chance of appeal and also you can take them to tribunal but even if you win at tribunal the employer does not have to re-employ you.
The best for you if they dismiss you is to get the dismissal revoked and a good reference. During your appeal meeting suggest a compromise agreement and that any discussions regarding this agreement are without prejudice.
I hope it doesnt come to this but you need to look after number 1, keep us informed and good luck on Monday.0 -
Take someone independant with you to the hearing for support etc i am certain that you have a
right to this.
I know the union cant represent you if you join now but you could use their free legal phone line for advice or you may have free legal help through your car or house insurance that you could phone for more advice.
Good Luck and all the best on MondaySpending my time reading how to fix PC's,instead of looking at Facebook.0 -
Whilst lavendyr might be right in that all you need to say is the shortened version which basically says 'yes, I've done wrong, I understand I've lost you a customer, I'm sorry and I won't do it again' you need to take into account what Brucie is like. He wants to explain why it came about..
I would suggest that Brucie *say* those things, in person, to management rather than writing them all down, thereby allowing them to actually see her passion for the job, and then to back it up with a short, professional letter which binds her to her word that she will not make the mistake again. In my view that would be the best combination if looking to keep her job.0 -
Well thanks so much everyone for all your help.
I went in there yesterday and put up the fight of my life...but unfortunately they dismissed me anyway. Reading between the lines, it seems that the UK director I've mentioned previously wanted me out so they had to get rid of me. I did actually ask my boss as I was being escorted off the premises if anything I said would've made a blind bit of difference and he told me no it wouldn't have. So the whole point of letting me put my case forward fell a bit by the wayside!
The onle good thing that has come out of it though is that my boss has told me he will give me a great reference and I already have an interview lined up for tomorrow morning - gonna spend all day jobhunting so will hopefully be ok.
Thanks so much to everyone for all your help.0 -
Nice to see you bounce back so quick. All the best for your interview!0
