EDF Meter Readings

Daughter is being chased for a large 'catch up' bill of £600 for a 1 bedroomed flat, after she has been paying £75 per month direct debit. Been in the flat since March '08!!!!!

She is on EDF's 'Economy 10 electricity tariff', and works during the day so most of the time will benefit from this tariff.

Question .....
On the digital meters is 'r1' for the Economy or Normal tariff? EDF have suddenly decided to switch the numbers as "..... they must have been wrong since March '08, because you should be using more units on the 'Normal' tariff therefore you owe us £600"
It has taken about 4,500,000,000 (4.5 billion) years for the Earth to form as it is now .........
and it'll only take about another 100 years for mankind to really **** it up!!!!

Economy 10 suggests storage heaters. Not sure why E10 rather than E7 if she's out during the day as I thought the idea of E10 was a period of low price in the afternoon/early evening?

Anyway, do you know how many kwh she has used peak and off peak since March?

Economy ten should bill you on two or three rates. In general rate 1 would be day and rate 2 night. The third I presume would indicate monitoring the boost rate. What type of meter is it and how many reads does it display?
Please support my thanks button if I have been of any help

Economy 10 only has 2 billable readings not 3.
  • Have her previous bills been estimated as EDF have a habit of underestimating them, then you get slapped with a rather large bill.
I used to suffer from lack of motivation.... now I just can't be arsed.
