    those are very kind offers thank you :T I am in North London so I think you are both a bit far from me. But does anyone have a contact they can recommend to me as a trustworthy repair man?

    I got my laptop back last night and it seems to be as it was when I put it in so hopefully he hasn't broken anything new!

    The new repair man I found phoned today to said the laptop is definetely broken for good. So I need to get a new one now.
