I started a reclaim against MBNA last June for a loan ppi I believe I was mis sold and they wrote back saying no, so I sent the next letter (2nd) gave it a couple of weeks and was told they had not received it, so sent the second again. I went on holiday expecting a responce when I returned but received nothing. Called again and the girl said she would resend it.
Still received nothing a few weeks later so I called up again to be told it would be resent again and still never received anything.
I gave up annoyed and angry but now regret doing that. My question is -
Do you think I will be able to send the first letter to them again and restart the whole process?
Thanks in advance

Hi hun
Seems like they are giving you the runaround here.
Did you post by recorded delivery by any chance?
If you do not hear from them by 8 weeks I would continue to take your case to the ombudsman, because you should be eligible to do that anyway as they still have 8 weeks which is ample time to investigate.
Personally I think they have received it and are not admitting this to you, they think you don't know the procedures perhaps, I could be wrong here, but it maybe a good idea to let the FOS know about this and they maybe able to help you in your case here, just explain to them what you have told us above and see what they say.;)

I would contact the FOS immediately regarding your concerns on 0845 080 1800, explain whats happening and ask them to make a complaint on your behalf also and indicates that you have complained to them. This way they will contact them and it will be recorded on file. The thought that they are onto then regarding this may speed up your case with the lender. The FOC wouldnt normally get involved until you recieve the lenders final respone, which it clearly indicates here that they are stalling on. The FOC will need some details from you and in a few days should send you forms to complete once the 8 week response time is up, this is when they get seriously involved if not settles to your satisfaction. Please remember to keep records of mail, calls, content etc for reference, Mike0
